Ancestry Charts How Reliable Are Ancestry Charts On RootsWeb's WorldConnect Project?

How reliable are ancestry charts on RootsWeb's WorldConnect Project? - ancestry charts

It's hard for me info on ancestry.com I the RW, because I can not see paying hundreds for the international database, and no local genealogical library. How do I trust this letter? It seems that people have a lot of information but does not show any identification or something behind the idea.

Exactly, unless the person, the information submitted documents to prove what you have not published them.
I try to admit at least some of the documentation for all my whole some may not find it, but most do. Note that only an idea without documentation, first with the person who this information and see if they were documents that do the name provided and have the records for some reason, some researchers do not. And as each of his research to verify the work. Anyway I hope this helps and good luck, happiness and Research

Some are more reliable than others. Half are better than the average half worse.
(This is the nature of the medium are not downloaded an insult to half the people who GEDCOM.)

Click on the case, "a source" or "She notes, or both. When was the source of another WFT GEDCOM or a CD, taken with a grain of salt. When are the primary sources and notes, copies of the sources of the sender invented everything have, but it can be trusted.

Consult Dixwell Ketcham, for example, follow them and their ancestors TUTHILL 3 generations back in my database. This line is above the average. Not all of my stuff is so good. I want it.

Your LDS FHC or a public library, a census images subscription. Call and ask.

You can always write to the person, unless the title says: "Do not Leave" and look for sources.

Nice to see someone who's warning.
No files anywhere ... in the LDS files, ancestry, or any other secondary source is guaranteed. Save even too bad. One way is to check to pull files from a name and see that in many cases there is conflicting information. Which immediately indicates that at least one is wrong (and maybe even two).
The Internet has opened up incredible doors, but it also opens people to accept "means" just do not understand the dangers. I can not answer on the international archives, but for research in America can www.usgenweb.com as the site for locations in the community, often posted the original sources are used basis. Not all are great sites .. some are little more than a page of advice.
The best thing to do is contact the sender, after comparing what is offered. Even without contact, may be able to zoom into the area, and if taken the standards of online sources (such as the census will, land records, etc..) I also like the review of the places where I can find GenForumMy question to these are related. Quickly select the primary sources, assessment, or simply retrieve what they can use to another person. Click on the name of the poster, and consider what may be available.
I would rather have 5 names in my file "and you know that they are correct, the names of 5 trillion euros.

Use the information as clues not as fact. For example, I live in Texas and my parents were born here. But sometimes my ancestors in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, who, Missouri, Georgia, Alabama, lived. But I do not know where in the States. If it does not already met my family before the Internet sites can be used as a reference to the writing of files.

You will notice that some people on a variety of information, and are the same person. But sometimes you will see a whole page with information identical to various petitioners by the same person too often, because people copy. I fear that many people have errors in their pedigrees, because of that. Some, I believe, are too busy adding names, its database with pedigree.

No information is worthless unless you can
Back up with evidence.
When my brother studied history of our family, she has
Documentation of heritage, and a branch of our
is documented back in 1775, and others are
''''more documented.
Remember this, because everything we have the''informaciĆ³n''y
nothing if you have any evidence to substantiate the statements.
No evidence somewhere in every step of the genealogy when
to seek and achieve connections.
I collect information, but I want to document it.
It was generally attract a lot of information to a few
Tests. Many people are willing to documents
Copies and esp.families and connections there.
Pictures speak many words, but not loud. (Too Funny)

Tree diagrams online is as accurate as the investigation of the person writing. That is why we use a variety of sources, compare and information between them, and unless it reasonably can confirm the information, I used the sources as a guide for which I work as a starting point, add to my tree. Sometimes you have to just have to have a reasonable confidence in the work of others if the information in a logical and sensible, and sometimes you can find the evidence itself. Only e-mail to the person who sent the letter to the sources. His e-mail is top RootsWeb. Also check the information themselves, whenever possible, to make sure that makes sense. Examples of mistakes that I saw that there are things like: "Joe, born 1832, died 1880th His father, John, born 1800, died 1827th Well, there's no way that Joe was born 5 years after the death of his father. not least. in these days without sperm banks and artificial insemination, I have a whole tree in a branch of my family, that some distant cousin had done. Itis fascinating, but I do not know if I could trust him. I have this person, and we are in contact for a year. Now I know enough about them and their Research faith in the information have to judge, because she worked for 25 years and never posts anything that you can not what are awaiting review.
